Maya Obadia is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, providing compassionate, evidence-informed care to teens and adults seeking support, healing, and meaningful change. She works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship concerns, identity exploration, and the emotional weight of major life transitions.
Maya’s clinical foundation is shaped by extensive training within leading healthcare institutions, including SickKids and the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto. Her work in these settings developed her specialized ability to support individuals and families living with cancer, chronic illness, and complex medical journeys. She continues to help clients process the emotional, cognitive, and relational challenges that emerge across diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship.
Maya also has a dedicated focus on supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, and midlife transitions. She offers a warm, validating, and knowledgeable space for clients experiencing mood shifts, uncertainty, changing identities, and the physical and emotional demands that accompany hormonal change.
Her therapeutic style is grounded, collaborative, and deeply attuned. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based approaches, relational psychotherapy, self-compassion practices, and Motivational Interviewing, she helps clients understand their emotional patterns, shift unhelpful behaviours, and build practical, sustainable strategies for growth. Maya is committed to helping clients reconnect with themselves, cultivate resilience, and find greater peace and clarity in their personal journey.
She offers in-person psychotherapy in Toronto as well as secure virtual sessions for clients across Ontario. Outside of her clinical work, Maya enjoys spending time with her family, finding sunshine whenever she can, being near the water, and savouring slow, mindful coffees.
Lauren Peires is a Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational
Therapists of Ontario and a member of the Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists. She is qualified and registered to practice in Ontario.
Lauren completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Psychology at
McMaster University, followed by a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy, also from
McMaster. Her background in both physical and mental health fuels her passion for helping
people find balance through movement, meaningful activity, and lifestyle change.
With experience supporting clients of all ages in community settings, Lauren has worked with individuals facing a wide range of physical, cognitive, and mental health challenges. She has completed additional training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), and takes an individualized, compassionate approach with each client she works with.
Lauren believes that achieving balance and engaging in activities that bring purpose and joy are key to feeling fulfilled and living well. She’s passionate about helping people reconnect with what matters most and build sustainable habits that support both mental and physical health.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys staying active—whether that’s playing volleyball or golf,
exercising, or exploring the city with her children. She’s also a fan of slow mornings, good
coffee, and a great book.
